A Little Bit About Me
**** Update 2024 - living in London due to work****
Well i’m back on here, there seem to be limited options to meet someone special any other way.
So here it goes, what can is say about me? I’m an an open minded down to earth sort of guy. I have a good sense of humour, I like to think I’m funny (others may disagree). I’m a bit of a foody and enjoy different types of cuisines, to compensate I’m a regular gym goer and try to work out 3 or 4 times a week - though as I get older it seems to be getting more and more difficult to maintain the leanness. I have been told I look younger than my actual age, I still have all my teeth and hair (just about).
I grew up in an area with very few ethnic minority groups around and have not known many Muslims in my life (or Asians for that matter). I would say I’m not the sort of perfect Muslim guy some girls are looking for on here (probably far from it), but I should also add at the same time that I am no heathen either.
I have a liberal outlook to life and Islam is very much in my heart - as instilled by my parents. Though I may not practice as much as I should, I know my basics, that is to say I know my prays, I fast and keep halal, I don't wear a kurta over jogging pants with socks and sandals (what is that about?!?). I don't preach what a good Muslim should be or shouldn't be and I don’t have a beard (apparently beard is how you recognise a good Muslim), unless I’m being lazy and haven’t shaved for weeks. So if you want a beard, you can grow your own!! ……actually, no don’t, its unattractive and you will be a freak show, so beardy weirdy searchers – keep searching!!!
I enjoy my life and live in the city centre by myself although my brothers will occasionally stay over. I love my small close nit immediate family. After resisting the years of nagging from my mother to get married and settle down, I have decided it’s about time I actually did (perhaps because she has given up nagging!!).
I have spent many years studying (1 Bachelors, 2 Masters degrees and various professional qualifications), travelling, doing various outdoor activities and building a career - as I said I enjoy my life. However I’ve come to the realisation that it would be far better if I had someone to enjoy it with, someone to love, a special someone who would be my partner in crime (not literally) and share the good times (and also the tough times). I would like to do a lot more traveling with my future wife, also hopefully she will join me in some of my outdoor activities which have included, scuba diving (i’m a master scuba diver), free diving, abseiling, sky diving, horse riding.
They say at the end of your life you regret the things you didn’t do (I have no idea who "they" are!).I have thus far taken the road less travelled and i have no regrets for the life I have had, and I do not want to regret not meeting the love of my life, getting married and raising a family, so here I am.

What I Am Looking For
This is an easy question to ask but difficult answer.
I don’t have any issues with any ethnicity, where you come from doesn't matter to me, I'm very much interested in where you want to end up (as long as its Manchester).
I am attracted to intelligence and find smart sexy, add some dry witty humour and you’re perfect.
Someone over the age of 35 and under 45.
So I’m looking for someone who is strong (I don’t mean with muscles, if you have muscles I’m running away!!), opinionated and intelligent, someone who can give me a run for my money (figure of speech!! …I’m a poor northerner!!), someone who is adventurous and likes to travel, enjoys a good laugh, isn't sitting on her high horse, has compassion for fellow human beings regardless of race, religion and culture (forgot to mention under the me me me section above, I’m a bit of a Human Rights expert and have a Masters in Human Rights Law, although it’s nothing to do with my profession, it is a passion of mine).
If you are a drama queen, queen of Instagram, and superficially image conscious, then we wont get on!
I’m not going to add any more to this section as I feel you can never have a prescribed list of things you are looking for in a partner, as you end up falling for people for their perfections as well as their imperfections. I’d say the most important thing I’m looking for is some spark, some chemistry with someone which will lead to a happily ever after.
Guess what we're all looking for is some mutual trust, respect, understanding and affection. (ok, now I’m sounding like a big girl!!).
